In-line Water Cooler vs Bottle Top Water Cooler

We have a large range of water coolers in both bottle top and inline format, in fact some of our newer cooler products are convertible between the two, putting us in the perfect position to give impartial advice about the positives and negatives of both technologies.

As always you must beware of bias in the advice from anyone who sells only the one type of cooler product and not the other.

Most people are familiar with the sight of a water cooler with a big bottle on top in waiting rooms, offices, and increasingly in homes.

An inline cooler is a fantastic new option whereby you can have all the benefits of a water cooler without the variable costs of water delivery.

Inline coolers self fill, self chill and self filter the water.  This sounds great and it is as long as you are aware of exactly what you are getting.

Inline Water Cooler Safety & Reliability Checklist:

1, Quality Water Cooler: Like any other consumer product there are 'dirt cheap' water coolers available, and like any other product there is a reason why they are so cheap - They are low quality.

The difference is that with a water cooler you are dealing with the health of your staff, your family and yourself - definately not a place to be taking short cuts.

We have seen many coolers with non food grade components used for the water storage tank and the piping which carries the water through the cooler - this is illegal and a potential health hazard.

2, Hygiene & Sanitisation Service: It is recommended that water coolers are internally cleaned and sterilised every four to six months.  It is important that you have your cooler professionally serviced by a trained water cooler service technician.  Any good water cooler company should have a water cooler sanitisation program available.

3, Filter Testing Certification: Displays NZ/AUS testing certification.  Insist on "Tested in New Zealand/Australia/U.S.A." for reliability of testing standards, it also pays to ensure the filter is made in a reputable manufacturing location i.e U.S.A. or N.Z.

There are many low grade, low quality filters in circulation in New Zealand - do not get caught out!

2, Hygiene & Sanitisation Service: It is recommended that water coolers are internally cleaned and sterilised every three months.  It is important that you have your cooler professionally serviced by a trained water cooler service technician.  Any good water cooler company should have a water cooler sanitisation program available.

3, Water Delivery Service: What are you paying for exactly? There is an enormous variance in the quality of delivered water.  Ensure that the plant has an A grade food premise certificate, ask what process is used to filter and purify the water.  The finest degree of filtration available in the world today is reverse osmosis, that is why we use it.  Many companies deliver water of a quality that can be achieved by an inline water cooler system with a premium filter cartridge.  It pays to know exactly what you are getting before you make your decision.
